JIM SORBE

I grew up in the Pyrenees and enjoyed ski racing all my childhood. It then seemed natural for me to train as a ski instructor alongside my studies at university. Once I’d obtained my Master’s degree, I decided to live out my passion for skiing, spending my winters between the Alps and the Andes (Argentina, Chile). My curiosity for countries where skiing is practised led me to experiment different mountains area around the globe: from the imposing couloirs that abound in the foothills of Aconcagua (6,962 m) to the powder of Hokkaido (Japan), via the Volcanoes of Patagonia and the beautiful slopes of the Alps. After discovering a number of resorts, I settled on Val d’Isère, which is for me the ideal place for great skiing. I’d be delighted to share with you my enthusiasm for skiing in my favourite ski area, both on and off the slopes…

My father (also a Ski Instructor), gave me the passion for freeride / off piste skiing. I started to discover the most prestigious Tarentaise valley itineraries by following my dad’s group such as the North face of Foglietta – my first 3000M when I was 6 Years old.
Then, I practised Ski jumping during 10 years for la Rosiere ski club, and the training base was at Courchevel.
I followed my formation at la Rosiere ski club and after at the National Ski School of Ski and Alpinism in Chamonix.
Since my 17, I’ve been glad to share my passion for mountain and ski with skiers of all level.
My passion for adventure pushed me to discover the whole world through my travels into Russia, Asia, USA, Africa and Australia where I also improved my English and learned Russian.

PIERRE-LOUIS BRUN
OriginAlps Ski InstructorPIERRE-LOUIS BRUN
Graduated from the National School of Skiing and Mountaineering, I combine travel and skiing with the seasons. Driven by the need to explore the world, I spend the winter in my mountains and the rest of the year abroad, guided by the pleasure of sliding in a preserved nature.
From 2014 to 2019, I experience mountaineering and steep skiing in the Mont Blanc massif. During these four winter seasons, surrounded by local professional guides and skiers in Chamonix, I had the chance to increase my knowledge in high mountains. I refine my analysis of the terrain, weather and snow conditions to evolve safely.
In 2017, I realized a winter season in New Zealand. Based in Queenstown, I was skiing at Coronet Peak and Remarkables. There, I could experiment a very changeable snow typical of the South Island, and I was able to discover the snowy peaks of Mount Cook National Parc by ski touring.
In December 2018, I made a trip to China, in the Wanlong Ski Resort on the outskirts of Chongli City (organizer of the 2022 Olympic Winter Games) to participate in the launch of an international ski school. This stay has open myself to a new culture, and to be able to evolve in a climate, with extreme weather and changing snow conditions.
Those years of traveling on different continents allow me today to share the art of skiing and the experience of the mountain, by being in the right place at the right time.
Born February 17, 1990 in Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Trained as a carpenter, I began renovating a traditional Tarine house built in 1858 with the help of my brothers.

HÉLIAS MILLERIOUX
OriginAlps - High mountain guideHÉLIAS MILLERIOUX
For 10 years I have spent most of my time climbing mountains all over the world, mainly in the Himalayas to practice the alpine style.
What motivates me mainly are the big faces that have a certain aesthetic, I have made several first climbs in Nepal, Pakistan and Alaska …
My greatest success was to receive the Golden Ice Axe in 2018 for the opening of a new route on the south face of Nuptse in alpine style with my partners Frédéric Degoulet and Benjamin Guigonnet.
I am also a good skier, I have traveled the steepest slopes in Chamonix and specialized in ski expeditions to Pakistan (Karakoram) and the Yukon, Alaska… I have also skied the Diama glacier on the Nanga Parbat from its 7800 meters and made the first descent on skis from the eastern ridge of Mont Logan.

After 10 years in the ski club, I decided to become a ski instructor in order to pass on my passion for skiing and to help you progress whatever your level.
Living all year round in the Haute Tarentaise valley, I love these mountains in winter as well as in summer, which naturally led me towards more free skiing.
Today, I specialize in ski touring and off-piste skiing, and I’d like to help you discover and enjoy both a climb on the side of a ridge and a descent on a virgin slope.
My most beautiful memory: 1st summit in off-piste realized with my dad at the age of 10 years.
